Dev-Subhashre starrer, Dhumketu, is finally set for release after a 9-year hiatus. For the unversed, Dhumketu is set to hit the big screens on August 14, 2025. Subhashree Ganguly and Dev are one of the most loved reel-life couples in the Bengali film industry along side Jeet-Koel.
The duo also reportedly dated for many years. However, their relationship hit a rough patch, leading to a breakup. The alleged couple were last seen together in the film, Khokha 420 in 2013. Now, after 12 years, the rumoured ex-couple is coming together for their film, Dhumketu. The shooting of the film was completed years back in 2016, but a fallout between its co-producers, Dev and Rana Sarkar, delayed its release. It is being said Dev once promised Subhashree when they were in a relationshi to cast her in his first flim as producer. Since Dhumketu’shooting has been completed they never shared screen together. Lots of recent development has drew them apart mega-star Dev is in a stable relationship with Rukmini Maitra while Subhashree Ganguly is happily married to Raj Chakraborty and mother to their son Yuvaan and daughter Yalini. The commonality is both them who have started their career almost together is ruling the Bengali flim industry with their best work professionally. Dev is enjoying the ultimate stardom with no actors near to him in the recent time while Subhashree is getting praises for her choice and quality of work.
Ever since the film’s release date was revealed, Dev-Subhashree fans have been eagerly awaiting the chance to watch their favourite jodi together. Fans requested both Dev and Subhashree to do a joint promotion for their upcoming film, Dhumketu. Earlier, the duo promoted the film separately, but they will be seen together at the trailer launch event. The tickets of the event which is going take place on 4th August at Nazrul Mancha has been sold in three phrases and every times it went out of stock within few minutes.
