Delhi Police received two successive calls on Monday morning, both originating from the Chief Minister's residence in Civil Lines, police sources said. The caller, claiming to be AAP leader Swati Maliwal, reportedly dialled emergency services after allegedly being assaulted.
According to police sources, the call came around 9:30 AM. The caller claimed she was assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide, Vibhav Kumar.
However, after a police team arrived at the location, Swati Maliwal was not found. According to protocol, Delhi Police cannot enter the Chief Minister's house without prior permission.
A senior Delhi Police official said, "One PCR call at 9:34 AM has been recieved at PS Civil Lines from a lady saying she was assaulted at Chief Minister's house. After some time, MP madam came to PS Civil Lines, but she left stating she will file a complaint later."
TWO CALLS TO DELHI POLICE
India Today TV accessed the police diary entry detailing the two PCR calls that were made from the Chief Minister’s house. In the first call, the caller claimed that they were at the Chief Minister’s residence, where the Chief Minister had a fight with his personal assistant, Vibhav Kumar.
Police said after they received the second call, they made a correction in the diary entry. Identifying the caller as a woman, the entry states she "was at the Chief Minister's House, where he instructed his PA Vibhav Kumar to beat her up brutally".
The police are currently investigating the authenticity of the PCR calls and attempting to gather more information about the matter. No written complaint has been filed yet.
India Today TV reached out to Swati Maliwal for her statement, but she was not available.
Reacting to the alleged incident, BJP IT Cell in-charge Amit Malviya said in a post on X, "Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was in fact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time."
