After the stupendous success of Khakee-The Bihar chapter, comes the 2nd installment , this time, set in Bengal. Neeraj Pandey and his team is back with a bang. Khakee this time shows the story of “Mafia Raaj” similar to the previous one but set in Bengal from Mid 90s to Early 2000. The cast is meticulously crafted with some new faces and some renowned one. Everyone did their best and it goes smoothly towards the end.
The most important thing of Khakee was the storyline the story follows an IPS officer Arjun Moitra (Jeet) trying to bring down a criminal gang and destroy the criminal-politician nexus in West Bengal. . This is amazing as how the writers used real-life examples and incidents to show the realism. From the beginning the story starts with a thrill and sustains it till the very end making the entire series entertaining and engaging.
Lastly how the creators and DOP covered iconic locations of Calcutta. From narrow streets to the banks of Hogli, the choice of location was amazing.
Overall Khakee delivers what it promises with a new story and new characters and some promising and powerful performances.
I would like to mention some actors whose performances were just amazing:-
Prosenjit Chatterjee shines as a cunning politician, while Saswata Chatterjee's menacing character is a highlight. Jeet impresses as a tough hero, stole the show with his plane Jane gaze and subtle tones and profound acting as IPS Arjun Moitra Parambrata Chatterjee is, as always, fantastic.
The real showstoppers, however, are Ritwik Bhowmik and Adil Zafar Khan. Both actors deliver remarkable performances as gangsters, showcasing their versatility and range.
Ritwik Bhowmik's transformation from a classical singer in Bandish Bandit to a ruthless gangster is exceptional impressive, demonstrating his skill and dedication as an actor.
Adil Zafar Khan's shift from a romantic lead in Shikara to a rowdy gangster is equally remarkable, highlighting his ability to convincingly portray diverse characters.
The series excels in its visuals, capturing the essence of Kolkata, and features well choreographed action scenes. The directors maintain a consistent pace throughout the seven episodes.
