A day before the Health Ministry announced the decision to postpone NEET-PG 2024, the testing panel responsible for conducting the exam had advised candidates against fraudsters who claimed to have the exam questions and were offering them in exchange for money.

The exam, scheduled to be held on Sunday, June 23, was postponed on Saturday. The ministry said the next date for the examination will be announced at the earliest. The decision came against the backdrop of alleged irregularities in NEET-UG and the row over UGC-NET cancellation.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences on Friday said its officials had discovered that some people were trying to "deceive NEET-PG candidates through social media platforms".

The NBEMS proceeded to file a complaint against the social media groups who were attempting to "befool NEET-PG aspirants in the name of providing questions of NEET-PG 2024 for a considerable sum of money".

The testing panel further cautioned aspirants to not be lured or misled by people who claimed they accessed "questions of upcoming of NEET-PG 2024 accessed through "the authority".

A day after the advisory, the Health Ministry announced that the exam has been postponed.

The ministry said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to maintain the integrity of the NEET-PG Entrance Examination. The ministry said it has decided to conduct a thorough assessment of the examination processes to ensure their robustness and fairness.

The fresh date for the examination will be announced at the earliest.
